These troubling chaotic times of political turbulence, climate change and the economic uncertainty of tomorrow is the cause of fear and great concern within us all.
There has always been times of chaos, political upheaval and economic hard times but somehow this feels different because of technology and social media. The insanity surrounds us, unable to escape its grip on our senses. What are we to do?
We have the opportunity for all of us to practice our values and principles that we hold dearly. Acceptance and tolerance won’t change the chaos outside of us but it can stop the chaos from living within us. We all have the responsibility and obligation to practice and live with spiritual principles. We cannot let intolerance of those we disagree with to control and poison our thoughts and emotions. We can all be a powerful example of how to rise about our negative thoughts and feelings and behave in a more tolerant and loving way. In times like this, hope looks thin while despair is thick.
It is easy to talk about spirituality and loving your fellow man but it is another thing altogether to live those values and principles during these troubling times.
On the personal level, this is why people turn to drugs and alcohol, they don’t want to feel the loneliness, heartache, fear and pain that life can bring to all of us at different times in our lives. we must turn to the positive not the negative, we must live in hope rather than die slowly in despair.
Always remember, to be aware of a single shortcoming within oneself is more useful than to be aware of a thousand in someone else.
The entire population of the universe, with one trifling exception, is composed of others.
