When we are uncomfortable in our own skin, there are only two actions we can take. The first action is to be honest with ourselves so we can understand what it is about ourselves and the life we live that makes it impossible to be comfortable in our own skin. Once we honestly look at ourselves then we must be willing to do the hard work of changing and to live a new life where we are OK being in our own skin. The second action is to run away from those hard choices and get as high as we can, lifting us above the reality of our lives and the choices we make. Each time we come crashing down into our own skin again only to find it more uncomfortable so we must continue this lifting above, then crashing down over and over again until we find that courage to change.
